The Mwaya beach is exceptional. It is virgin that is,it has not been totally visited and still not visited by people other than the natives themselves. This has been due to less publicity but also access to the beach itself.Mwaya has to paths, one is direct from the Tenende junction towards Ipinda and Matema going east after crossing the Mbaka river. It passes through the Ikama,Ndwanga,Ilopa,Igembe and lastly Ilondo where the beach is.On the way you can visit the Kakumbe river in Ilopa village where recently a tree believed to have been there since the 1920s fell splitting into two pieces. It is believed that mischievously there was a fight in the spiritual realm which led to the fall of the tree and since it fell nobody has taken nothing out of it,meaning neither firewood or anything else.
